Night falls. The Moons rise. The stars stud the great, vast dome of the sky. The Distant Verdant Star reveals itself. As it has every night since Men have quested the stars. As it will every night until the end of days. The Star, they say, is visible in the night sky anywhere in the world. It may be true. Bayan has travelled far enough to see strange night skies and unfamiliar stars. But the Distant Verdant Star has always been there, fixed to the dome of heaven, steady as the other stars carry on their great, cosmic dance. Brighter than any of the lesser stars.
