I happened to be walking through the living room while my Dad was watching the 1995 Judge Dredd movie, right in time for the (in)famous “YouBetrayedTheLaw!”/ “LAAAAAAGGGHHHHWW” exchange.
That is the primary inspiration for this scene.

The door to the Hammered Nail bursts open, loudly crashing into the tavern’s wall.
Kat Darkstone has a bad feeling about this.
“YouBetrayedTheLaaaaaw!”
“Ahhh!”
THWACK!
“Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw!”
THWACK!THWACK!THWACK!
Kat begins eyeing the nearest exit, wondering if she get her Chicken Bits to safety with losing any.
“Don’t just stand there – Ahh! – watching! – Eek! – Help – Ow! – me!”
“That strange little gremlin is really making a nuisance of herself,” a voice from the crowd notes. “Let’s get it!”
Kat ponders the words
Little?
The creeping realisation settles on her like a great weight.
Gremlin?
Nuisance?
