She frowns and thoughtfully touches her chin.
“You know, I don’t think we’ve ever worked out what exactly your job is, Paige.”
The tall young woman shrugs.
“Bodyguard?” Amara mutters. “Valet? Butler?”
The wall young woman shrugs again. “Paige is fine.”
“This is Paige,” Amara declares.
Egeria pushes past her cousin to eagerly curtsy to the Darkstones.
“I am just so darn pleased to meetcha, y’all!” she declares.
Kat blinks in bewilderment. “You said she’s your cousin?”
“Yes, Katherine,” Amara answers. “And we have the patents and exhaustively thorough genealogies to prove it.
“But she says y’all!”
